Eheim 2322 Professional Wet/Dry Filter with Integrated Heating
Wet/dry filters offer several advantages over traditional filters, especially
if you keep corals or reef invertebrates. They provide greater oxygenization and
water circulation, and are usually recommended for larger aquariums. The Eheim
2322 professional wet/dry filter with integrated heating has all the features of
a professional wet/dry filter and also has a heating element to keep your
aquarium at constant temperatures.
Your fish and invertebrates will be much healthier in a tank which has a wet/dry
filter. Biological filtering is much more efficient as the filter can have both
aerobic and anaerobic microbes. The Eheim 2322 professional wet/dry filter with
integrated heating is designed for tanks of about 39 gallons and has a pump
output of 130 gallons per hour. The filter volume is 0.59 gallons and the unit
uses 8 watts of electricity for the pump and 150 watts for the heater.
The Eheim 2322 professional wet/dry filter with integrated heating has an
electronic thermostat for accurate temperature settings. The temperature is set
with a control dial that is located on the filter canister.
You can use a variety of filter media with the Eheim 2322 professional wet/dry
filter with integrated heating. It is recommended to use the Ehfimech mechanical
filter as the bottom layer of the filter as it is specially designed to agitate
the water flow to increase efficiency of the upper filter media layers. Ehfimech
is a ceramic filter material that effectively traps large particles and provides
biological filtering after a period of time.
A course filter pad can be used on top of the Ehfimech layer in the Eheim 2322
professional wet/dry filter with integrated heating. This will further reduce
the amount of foreign particles in your aquarium while providing a separator
between the Ehfimech and the next layer of filter media.
Further layers of filter media used in the Eheim 2322 professional wet/dry
filter with integrated heating can include chemical and absorptive filters.
These can be used either short term or long term to alter the chemical makeup of
your aquarium water and to remove toxic substances such as aquatic medicines and
chlorine.
